Alex Dudley
Climate Resilience Analytics Specialist
Alex is an evaluation and climate change resilience specialist with over 5 years of experience in international organisations, Australian federal government, and the private sector. She has developed frameworks to understand and measure climate change physical and transition impacts, adaptation effectiveness, and climate exposure and vulnerability across the social, economic, built and natural environments, synthesising extensive data into policy ready insights and advice. She specialises in using local climate projections in combination with social and environmental data and other contextual information to develop governmental climate adaptation plans and has worked with engineers and building designers to undertake building-specific climate risk assessments in line with Green Star requirements. Internationally, Alex supported a multi-lateral partnership and the United Nations University to promote climate and disaster risk finance and insurance availability and effectiveness in the most vulnerable countries, focusing on developing gender-sensitive and transformative approaches. Alex has also worked on emissions mitigation, projecting Australia's transport emissions to 2030 and developing advice on reducing emissions from the built environment.
Alex is passionate about reducing the impacts from disasters and climate change. She is keen to understand the effectiveness of adaptation and resilience activities, promoting constant learning and growth to ensure that efforts are directed to where they are most effective.
Alex holds a Master of Environmental Risk and Human Security from the United Nations University and University of Bonn (Germany) and is currently completing her second Masters in Evaluation with the University of Melbourne.
