ResilientCo was engaged by the City of Sydney to build knowledge and capacity on climate resilience among CitySwitch members, a diverse network of office-based businesses across Australia. We conducted a desktop review and gap analysis of existing climate resilience resources to inform the development of a step-by-step educational guide and a practical resource tailored to businesses of varying sizes and sectors. This included easy-to-use templates for businesses to fill in, examples of climate risks and adaptation opportunities, and cascading/system risk maps showing how climate-related events can cause disruptions across multiple parts of a business.

Alongside the guide, we delivered two online educational webinars covering climate risk identification, business continuity planning and strategies to embed resilience into operations. The project also included two detailed case studies following two member businesses through the successful implementation of their climate resilience and business continuity actions. Feedback was gathered from participants to assess the effectiveness of the resources, and a final report was provided summarising outcomes and key learnings.
