Specialty: I turn strategies and ideas into real on the ground projects for communities. With a focus currently in public safety, I work with organisations to facilitate community-led and resilience-based solutions to sometimes complex problems.
Experience: I’ve worked across state and local government in a range of positions including before, during and after some of Victoria’s largest fire and flood emergencies. I was responsible for leading the clean-up and recovery of communities after major bushfires in Victoria in 2015 and continue to work in the community recovery space now.
I’ve led and coordinated large-scale and complex projects such as the development of Australia’s emergency alert system, and developed economic strategies and business cases for agency and community-focussed programs.
Now I get to use the years of experience in problem solving and connecting people for better outcomes.
When I’m not working away on location, I spend a few hours every week working with the Salvation Army supporting other volunteers and community members.
Favourite music era: 1980s
How do you wind down after a busy day? I hike with a local group. We see a lot of great walks and trails all over Victoria. I also love to read.
What do you like most about working in your specialty? Supporting community members, having conversations and doing work that will make a difference.
